Dallas Cowboys 9.5 Win Total 2026 After Giving Up 511 Points
The worst defensive season in the club's history has not moved Dallas Cowboys betting odds off second place in the division.
Live Odds for Cowboys at Texans SGP (Oct 04, 2026)
Dallas conceded 511 points last season, the most in the NFL and a franchise record. They allowed the second most touchdowns in the league and recorded the second fewest interceptions, with six.
They also scored 471, which is more than all but a handful of clubs, and still finished 7-9-1.
PowerPlay Sportsbook has them 3.00 to win the NFC East, behind Philadelphia at 2.25, with 19.00 for Super Bowl LXI and 13.00 in the conference.
An offence that good and a defence that bad rarely appear on the same team sheet.

Seven New Defensive Starters and None on Offence
Matt Eberflus was sacked as defensive coordinator on 6 January after a single season.
Christian Parker, 34, arrived from Philadelphia on 22 January, having been the Eagles' secondary coach and passing game coordinator, and before that Denver's defensive backs coach.
He is installing a 3-4 front, and the club expects at least seven new defensive starters in Week 1 against none on offence.
That is an unusually clean split. One side of the ball has been left alone entirely and the other has been rebuilt.
The personnel came in two waves.
At the November trade deadline Dallas acquired the defensive tackle Quinnen Williams from the Jets for a 2026 second, a 2027 first and Mazi Smith.
Smith had been their own 26th overall pick in 2023.
In March they sent a 2027 fourth to Green Bay for the edge rusher Rashan Gary, who has 46.5 career sacks and had 7.5 last season, all of them before Week 9.
Then they moved up one place in the draft, sending picks 12, 177 and 180 to Miami, to take the Ohio State safety Caleb Downs at eleven.
He is a two time first team All-American, a two time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the 2025 Thorpe Award winner.
Five of their seven picks were defensive players.
The Highest Paid Kicker in NFL History
Brandon Aubrey signed a four year extension worth 28 million dollars in April, an average of seven million a year, which makes him the best paid kicker the league has had.
For a club that lost four games by one score, paying a premium for the most reliable scoring on the roster is a coherent decision rather than an eccentric one.
Elsewhere the roster turned over hard. Zack Martin retired after eleven seasons, and Micah Parsons was traded to Green Bay for Kenny Clark and first round picks.
Dak Prescott passed Tony Romo during last season to become the club's all time leading passer. He is 15.00 for MVP, 8.50 for most passing yards and 9.00 for most passing touchdowns.
At the cutdown Dallas released 35 players, the surprises being the 2025 rookie running back Jaydon Blue and the 2022 second round edge Sam Williams.
They also acquired the tackle Broderick Jones from Pittsburgh.
The linebacker Marist Liufau fractured a forearm in the preseason finale and went to injured reserve with a return designation.
The First NFL Game Ever Played in Rio
Dallas meet Baltimore at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro in Week 3, with Baltimore as the designated home team.
It is the first NFL game staged in Rio de Janeiro, the league having played in Sao Paulo since 2024, and only the second international regular season game in Cowboys history after 2014.
Baltimore are 12.00 on the outright board and 1.85 to win the AFC North. Dallas are 19.00 and 3.00 in theirs.
Their season opens at the New York Giants, which is John Harbaugh's first game in charge there, so Dallas face Harbaugh's new club in Week 1 and his old one two weeks later.
There are no Canadians or former CFL players on the roster.

The Number That Decides It
Five hundred and eleven. Nothing else on this page competes with it.
A club scoring 471 points and finishing 7-9-1 is not an offensive problem, and the response has been proportionate.
A new coordinator, a new front, two trades for interior and edge defenders and a top eleven pick on a safety.
Dallas are 1.65 to go under 9.5 regular-season wins.
The market is not yet convinced that seven new starters in a new scheme fix a franchise record in one offseason, and the honest answer is that nobody can know until they have played.
What is knowable is the size of the gap. Getting from 511 to merely bad would be worth several wins on its own.
