San Francisco 49ers Win Total 2026: Is 9.5 Too Low?
Second in the division last season and third in the market this one, San Francisco 49ers betting odds start with that gap.
Live Odds for Broncos at 49ers SGP (Oct 04, 2026)
San Francisco finished 12-5 last season and third in the NFC West, level on record with the Rams at 4-2 inside the division.
PowerPlay Sportsbook has them 4.00 to win it, behind the Rams at 1.85 and Seattle at 3.00, the club that won it and then won the Super Bowl.
A Week 18 defeat at Seattle also dropped them to the conference's sixth seed.
They then beat the defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia 23-19 on the road in the wild card round.
A week later they lost 41-6 at Seattle, the second most lopsided playoff defeat in the club's history.
They are 19.00 for Super Bowl LXI and 10.00 in the NFC.
They are also 1.40 to make the playoffs, joint fourth shortest on that board.

413 Touches and the Comeback Player of the Year
Christian McCaffrey won Comeback Player of the Year with 31 of the 50 first place votes.
He ran for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns and caught 102 passes for 924 yards and seven more, for 2,126 scrimmage yards on a franchise record 413 touches, which also led the league.
That is an enormous workload for a player returning from a lost season, and it is the number the 2026 projection has to account for.
Kyle Shanahan remains head coach. Raheem Morris was hired as defensive coordinator on 1 February, replacing Robert Saleh, who left for the Tennessee headcoaching job.
Morris was Atlanta's head coach for the previous two seasons and has worked alongside Shanahan at Tampa Bay, Washington and Atlanta. Matt Eberflus joined as assistant head coach on defence.
Mike Evans arrived from Tampa Bay in March on a three year deal, at 32, after twelve seasons and every meaningful receiving record the Buccaneers have.
Kurtis Rourke Made the Roster
Kurtis Rourke, from Oakville, Ontario, came through the cutdown as the third quarterback behind Brock Purdy and Mac Jones. Adrian Martinez was released instead.
He is the younger brother of the BC Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke and went 227th overall in the seventh round in 2025.
He was also taken 25th overall in that year's CFL draft by Saskatchewan.
He won the Jon Cornish Trophy as the best Canadian in the American college game.
The injury history is worth getting right. His anterior cruciate ligament tear was a college injury.
He played the 2024 Indiana season on a torn right knee, had surgery in January 2025 and spent his entire rookie NFL season on the non-football injury list.
In his preseason debut against Tennessee he completed twelve of fourteen for 101 yards in his first game action in 601 days, then left with cracked ribs.
The injury was not serious and he was kept.
Two International Games on Two Continents
San Francisco open against the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the first NFL regular season game ever played in Australia, with the Rams as the designated home side.
In November they meet Minnesota at the Estadio Banorte in Mexico City as the designated home team, giving up a home date to do it.
It is their third game in Mexico City after 2005 and 2022.
No other club plays two international games on two different continents.
The injury list going in is long. The receiver Ricky Pearsall misses the entire season after knee surgery.
Mykel Williams and Isaac Guerendo open on the reserve list for at least four games.
Nick Bosa, who tore an anterior cruciate ligament in Week 3 last season, made the 53 but has been limited with knee tendinitis.
George Kittle tore an Achilles in the wildcard win at Philadelphia and is on the active roster for the opener.
NFC West – Division Winner

Where Could the Market Be Wrong?
Twelve wins and the sixth seed is the contradiction and it is not really the club's fault.
The NFC West produced the Super Bowl champions and the outright favourite in the same year.
That is still where they play. San Francisco are 4.00 in a division where the Rams are 1.85 and Seattle 3.00, and they finished above Seattle in it.
The argument against is the medical file.
Bosa, Pearsall, Williams and Guerendo are all either out, restricted or coming back from major surgery, and McCaffrey is 30 with 413 touches behind him.
They are 1.62 to go under 9.5 regular season wins, a market leaning firmly against a repeat of twelve.
The 41-6 in January is the other thing worth remembering.
This roster beat the defending champions on the road and was then dismantled by the eventual champions a week later, which is a wide range of outcomes inside eight days.
