Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Odds: Can the Core End the First Round Slide?
A roster that kept its core intact but reshaped everything around it defines Tampa Bay Lightning betting odds early in the new season, after four straight first round playoff exits raised real questions about the window closing.
Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, Brandon Hagel, Anthony Cirelli and Victor Hedman all stayed put this offseason, which tells its own story about how the front office views this core. The changes instead came on the back end and in the bottom six.
PowerPlay Sportsbook has Tampa Bay at 13.00 to win the Stanley Cup and 3.60 to win the Atlantic Division, second-shortest in the group behind Florida.

Where the Market Has Tampa Bay Landing
A 1.25 price to make the playoffs places Tampa Bay firmly among the division's genuine contenders rather than the wild card scrap further down the board.
That price reflects continuity more than a shakeup. The top of the lineup is essentially unchanged from a team that finished second in the Atlantic last season, and the market is backing the same group to get back to that level.
For sports betting purposes, the question the price doesn't answer is whether continuity is enough after four consecutive first round exits, which is exactly the tension driving this market.
Replacing Raddysh on the Blue Line
Darren Raddysh left for Toronto on an eight year sign and trade, and Tampa Bay's answer was John Carlson, who signed a two year deal after posting 60 points in 71 games split between Washington and Anaheim last season.
Through the opening games, Carlson has skated alongside J.J. Moser on the top pairing, while Hedman has been paired with Charle-Edouard D'Astous.
Depth Without the Departures
The bottom six was reshaped by the loss of Nick Paul, sent to Toronto in the trade that brought back goaltending prospect Dennis Hildeby, and the departure of veteran depth forward Oskar Bjorkstrand.
Ilya Mikheyev arrives on a four year deal after an 18 goal season in Chicago, slotting into a third line built more for reliability than highlight reel offence, while Jeffrey Viel adds further grit up front. Yanni Gourde opened the season unavailable with a hip injury.

Atlantic Division Landscape

Only Florida sits ahead of Tampa Bay in this market, with Montreal the closest challenger from outside the top two. The rest of the division is priced as a genuine step behind both.
What Has to Go Right
Continuity is the whole plan here. Point, Kucherov and Hagel need to produce at the level that's carried this roster for years, and Hedman's health remains the swing factor on a blue line now built around him and Carlson.
Andrei Vasilevskiy remains the clear starter with Dennis Hildeby in the backup role, while blue line depth is already being tested with Emil Lilleberg injured.
At 1.25 to make the playoffs and 3.60 to win the division, the market has Tampa Bay exactly where recent seasons would suggest: a genuine contender that still has to answer the same question it's faced four Aprils running.
